Skywriting Takes On New Meaning With These Vibrant Illustrations

Thomas Lamadieu's cartoonish drawings use building boarders and a sky canvas.

I wore a t-shirt to work this morning without a jacket for the first time this year. I want to marry the sky and show it all my love right now. French illustrator, Thomas Lamadieu, must feel similarly, as his aerial photographs-turned-cartoonish-illustrations showcase similar whimsical feelings towards the bright blue horizon.

The artist's new series includes images of a manipulated troposphere with building-boarders taken from photographs in Germany, Belgium, France, and more. At first glance, it looks like graffiti, but Lamadieu offers a unique take on skywriting that maintains our love for the weather this week. See some images of his work below:
