[Premiere] Bricks Boogie to Life in a Stop-Motion Music Video

Jak Ritger and K8 Howl turn the clay blocks into "Brixels" for "Oration," their new music video for Gaps & Spaces

Bringing ceramic bricks to life might sound impossible, but animators Jak Ritger and K8 Howl have transformed them into playful dancers in the stop-motion music video for "Oration" by Gaps & Spaces, which premieres on The Creators Project today. The 125 clay “Brixels” that star in the film are the handiwork of artist Shannon Wallack, who crafted each with a varying surface in order to "create animated designs when photographed sequentially."

The dance is set to the tunes of Chicago-based jazz musicians Greg Ward and Calleb Willitz, who together form Gaps & Spaces. Each Brixel will be available for purchase on their site for 5$. Take a deeper dive into the peaks and valleys of each unique clay sculpture, below:
