This is the 52nd installment of my weekly GIF column, GIF Six-Pack, which means this little tyke turns a year old today! I've shown you more than 300 GIFs, cherry picked from the bountiful community of original artists exploring short-form animation. Each week I highlight a theme or an artist of note, like first GIF attempts, whales, sex, booze, the past, the future, creepy morphing faces and leggy Vines. Through this column, I've explored the GIF format's ability to tell a story and unearthed endlessly looping gems I'd have never found otherwise.For the special one year anniversary edition of GIF Six-Pack, I'm announcing the official GIF Six-Pack Instagram account, @GIF6Pack, which will drop work by your favorite (and soon-to-be-favorite) GIF artists right into your feed. I'll curate the most interesting loops on the web and put them in one handy place for your enjoyment. In developing the legion of @GIF6Pack-featured artists, I've met loads of amazing people, several of whom banded together to make a special suite of GIFs just for the occasion.Zolloc, Anne Horel, Scorpion Dagger, and more have scanned me or ripped my visage from Facebook to make a Beckett Mufson-themed Six-Pack that is as awkward for me—normally occupying the role of a faceless internet writer—as it is aggrandizing of my ego.
