Once again, it’s that time of year when Art Basel descends on Miami. From December 6th-9th, Miami Beach is hosting the 11th edition of the art festival, with about 260 of the most innovative and prestigious galleries from all over the world throwing down their finest artistic arsenals for all to see. Works from over 2,000 artists will be displayed in an event-filled weekend of organized chaos.
A few of our Creators are displaying some of their incredible work at the celebrated event, and if you’ve tried looking for a definitive schedule online, so if you happen to be in Miami, look out for some of the these.
As part of Art Basel Miami’s event series, MoMA PS1 and Volkswagen are hosting a Hurricane Sandy relief concert at the Delano Beach Club. Proceeds from the benefit go to Rockaway Waterfront Alliance. Avey Tare and Deakin from Animal Collective, and Dave1 from Chromeo will be performing DJ sets.
Other musical acts happening during Miami Art Week that you shouldn’t miss include:
·AraabMuzik at SPIN Magazine’s NQB8R Party. 12/7, 4 PM
·Neon Indian at Bardot. 12/7 @ Bardot
·Tanlines. 12/8, 11 PM @ Grand Central Miami
Multimedia artist Li Hui enters Art Basel with a slew of futuristic installations and light sculptures. Hui’s work takes us to places of contemplation, leading us to a lightbulb moment or two.

Rashaad Newsome’s Shade Compositions (2012) will be featured in the “Art Video” sector of Art Basel Miami Beach. The performance was recorded at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in October.
Look out for the installation by artist Chul Hyun Ahn at Art Miami, easily one of the most eye catching pieces at the event. As is typical of Ahn’s work, he plays around with LED lights and mirrors creating a vortex effect sending you into infinite space.

This isn’t the first time that some of our Creators have made a splash during Miami Art Week. Back in 2010, FriendsWithYou set up a huge inflatable sculpture installation called Rainbow City. Check out the videos below for more…Part 1:
