Live Performance vs. produced track.

Sulumi was one of the first musicians to take the stage at our Beijing event Saturday afternoon where he infected the crowd with a melodic 8-bit set. As far as chiptune artists go, we think his style really pushes the boundaries of 8-bit. Sulumi composes innovative dance music rather than the simple, instrumental “robotic trance” sounds that are sometimes thought to be characteristic of the genre. And he really gets down.
This video shows the musician performing live in Tokyo in 2009, hunching and head-banging over his GameBoy, and here is an audio track of his latest track (released on September 11th) entitled “Wadded.” For footage of Sulumi going crazy at our NY event, click here.
