Hyped: The Week In Links 6/1

Busy week? Here are some things you may have missed.

This week on the blog we learnt how to make a synth out of a bunch of bananas, we explored Carsten Nicolai’s univrs, we found out how those animations in PBS’s America Revealed were created, we nodded our heads to an exclusive Doseone DJ mix, we found out about the future of film, and discovered how you can turn you time spent on Foursquare into customized jewellry.

Meanwhile, in the rest of cyberspace…

· The Google Project Glass looks likely to be available next year when they’ll be launching in stores, with rumours saying they’ll be priced around the same as a smartphone.

· Romain Gavras directs the music video for Jay Z and Kanye West’s “No Church In The Wild.” It features a lot of rioting.

· Lifeguards take a turn for the robotic. Let’s just hope they don’t rust.

· Here’s a musical guitar urinal that you can play while you pee (above).

· Frankenstein’s monster comes to footwear: A shoe company, Rayfish, is offering a bespoke service where you can mix and match the various patterns on stingrays, then they’ll combine their DNA to grow you a shoe.
