These Disney Princess Are Ready for Fashion Week in Redesigned Haute-Couture Gowns

But no word if Cinderella is still wearing those glass slippers.

The cartoon Disney cast of princesses revamps their closets for those with a budget to shop straight from the runway, and the desire to thrill like a grandiose Met Ball arrival. Keeping a sharp eye on color palette and character personality, illustrator and designer Michael Anthony has an eye for the contemporary and haute couture in his reimaginings of nearly all of Disney canon of princesses. His drawings of statement-making gowns and fierce pantsuits reveal a more arty, fashion-y side to the House of Mouse's top leading ladies.

Merida, Brave

Elsa, Enchanted

Anthony's interpretation of many of a well-known ensemble, such as Belle's sunny yellow gown to Elsa's vibrant and icy-blue floor-sweeper, adds modern appeal and personality. It's evident the Chicago-based designer is a fan of playing around with aesthetics from his childhood. The artist's reinterpretation of familiar Disney characters, 90s cartoons, and even sports teams signify a mind that cannot rest easy unless it is creating.

We will wait to see what sort of actualized designs result from these high-fashion sketches:

Ariel

Rapunzel, Tangled

Mulan
