Pretty soon, fish made out of francs are crawling out of the water and onto land, and a hydra is breathing fire from its many quarter heads. In Cyriak's new music video for Gong's "Occupy" (from I See You on Madfish), the story of the evolution of the universe is retold through currency. "the video covers 13.8 billion years of capitalism, using whatever loose change I happened to have in my pocket," Cyriak writes in his video's description. The result is nearly three minutes of psychedelic animation that co-opts Nature's story—as capitalism is prone to—into something far more sinister.
