If you've lain awake after watching the The Shining, you should maybe not visit London this week. The city is currently plagued by two life-size dolls in Victorian costumes—much like the Grady twins from the iconic film.

The 10-year-old sisters have been spotted at various locations and subway stations, including Charing Cross Tube Station, Oxford Street, Regent 's Street, and Hamleys, the world's oldest and largest toy store. They wander around with toys in their hands, and as if that sight was not frightening enough, they’ve been seen pushing an empty antique stroller.

The sinister duo are part of a marketing stunt by illusionist Derren Brown to promote a new attraction he will open next spring in Thorpe Park. "The Victorian theme is always present in my work," Brown told Metro UK. "[Dolls] are just a taste of what my new attraction has to offer to visitors. I believe we are heading for a future theme parks where visitors can not only provide a physical experience, but also mentally play with the concept of reality."

In October, Thorpe Park dropped the first hints of Brown’s attraction, which was followed by a flood of speculation among fans. This resulted in efforts to hack into the social media account of the amusement park. The park has since announced that a team of about 1,000 specialists and external experts are working on the 13-minute attraction.
