Pour One Out for Our Favorite Enamel Pin of the Week

Featuring new enamel pins from Cold Toes, Dropped Pin, Pin Jong Il, Topography and Rolling Death Maui.

As the founder of Strike Gently Co , I deal in pins and patches daily. The Creators Project asked me to pull together a weekly roundup of the best newly-released pins. Most of these will probably sell out. If you like them, smash that "add to cart" button.

Rolling Death Maui

I don't know what it is, but boy do I just love birds. This "ʻiʻiwi" bird, also known, according to Wikipedia, as the "scarlet honeycreeper," is a bird native to the beautiful land of Hawai'i, where Rolling Death Maui lives (hence the Maui part). I've seen some nice bird pins, but this one takes the cake. Look at that long beak and that beautiful red fur, and the fact that "100% of proceeds will be donated to the Conservation Council for Hawai'i." Gorgeous.

Pin Jong Il

Whether you're an old Japanese man or a young otaku hip to soft drinks, this is a pin for you. Pocari Sweat has a weird name and tastes like seltzer if you added some sulfates and 60g of high fructose nectar of the Gods. Drink up, senpai.

Topography

Changing gears for a sec, let's focus on a definitively American soft drink institution—Dunkin' Donuts. From the gorgeous font to the brilliantly-chosen, nuanced PINK and GOLD colorway, the donut brand is recognizable to even the most degenerate of anti-American urbanites. For those of us from New England, it's a lifestyle. Represent the lifestyle with this pin. Or, spend the money on a large coffee and a donut. I won't judge.

Dropped Pin

I have the same philosophy about this pin. No, 40s are not New England icons. No, I don't personally identify with the branding as much, even though it's cool. But yes, you could take the $12 you might use on this pin and instead buy three or four 40s for you and a couple pals. But since it's the future, and everyone's running low on pals, well, here's a pin ode to those who came before ye.

$12.00 here.

Cold Toes

Every time Cold Toes releases a pin, I hit the *nut* button. Well, it happened again: this sexy, violent pin is somehow also cute and fashionable. Who's the boss? Cold Toes, obviously, but also, whoever has the spiked mace.

$7.00 here.
