The Limited Edition Daft Punk Skate Deck Falls From the Heavens

It's $280, comes in two colorways, and you can bet it has "Da Funk."

Finally, you can roll around town on a rare relic of Daft Punk's legacy, thanks to designers, skaters, and cousins, Nicolas and Cédric Hervet. Hervet Manufacturier’s cruiser deck riffs on the CD cover art for Daft Punk’s classic house single “Da Funk”—originally released in 1995 with an accompanying music video directed by Spike Jonze. The limited edition boards parrot the cover’s blue-orange color pairing in two separate yet equally awesome versions, molded from beechword and covered in a layer of formica laminate. On the dorsal side of each board, the designers have laser-engraved the wood with a “grip-effect” Daft Punk logo pattern, while a bicolor, inlayed logo shines from below.

Admittedly, the board is selling on the Daft Punk website for the hefty price of $280. Says Facebook commenter Hillary Talvik, "$280 skateboard deck? Wow. Where did you guys get the idea for this? From Kanye at the Tidal release—maybe he told about the plain white $120 T-shirt he was selling." But the way we see it, the chance to ride on a piece of house music history is priceless.

[UPDATE: The decks have already sold out on DaftPunk.com]
