As Comic Con comes to a close, Greg Guillemin's art reminds us that superheroes are people, too.

Iconic superheroes still need to do laundry, too. Wonder Woman goes to the bathroom. Winnie the Pooh has probably had at least one one-night stand. Such is the premise of Greg Guillemin's tongue-in-cheek pop art illustrations, which feature Darth Vader having a nightcap, Spider-Man brushing his teeth, and Ronald McDonald picking his nose.

Some of the more interesting images are artifacts of the glossed-over sex lives our childhood cartoon characters, approached from the attention to the mundane that makes facepalming Captain America so interesting. That said, Guillemin's work skirts the steaminess of slash fiction sites, instead seeming to say, "Of course Mickey Mouse has a sex life, just like everybody else."

As New York Comic Con comes to a close, and everyone loses their minds over that ridiculous 9-foot-tall Iron Man Hulkbuster cosplay, it's more important than ever to remember that superheroes are people too.
