The VICE Guide to Spike Jonze

Go Hear Spike Jonze Speak at VIVID Sydney's Game-Changers Series

The acclaimed writer and director behind 'Adaptation', 'Being John Malkovich', and 'Where The Wild Things Are' has been announced as the headlining speaker at VIVID's Game-Changers talk series.

Spike Jonze, the acclaimed writer and director behind Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, and Where The Wild Things Are—and equally importantly, a key brain on our new TV channel VICELAND—has been announced as the headlining speaker at VIVID's Game-Changers talk series.

From his early days producing music videos for the Beastie Boys, Weezer, and Daft Punk, to becoming an Oscar-winning filmmaker (2013's Her won an Academy Award for best screenplay), and somewhere in between making that fucking wild short film with Kanye West, Jonze's huge career in film, TV and music is—as they say—prolific. VIVID's Game-Changers series will offer audiences the chance to see Jonze in conversation about his body of work, and hopefully discussing what it's like to direct West in an 11-minute-long meltdown, for the first time in Australia.

The series, which sees super successful people discuss their "game-changing" work in creative fields, will also host conversations with Orange Is The New Black creator and head writer Jenji Kohan and Beau Willimon, writer and producer of House of Cards, and more.

VIVID Sydney runs 27 May to 18 June. To book tickets and for more info, visit the VIVID website.
