GIF Six-Pack: David Michael Chandler's Moody Animations

For this week's Six-Pack, I want to highlight David Michael Chandler, a hand-drawing fanatic whose work seems almost childlike in style and ingenuity, but never fails to deliver a complex atmosphere upon closer inspection. Most of his GIFs animate the prose people have submitted to his Tumblr, The Daily Doodles, in about three paragraphs of text.

He's GIFs tap into a whole network of emotions, concepts, settings, and characters in narrative form. Take for instance, “A Robot Sitting Inside on a Snowy Day, Reflecting Upon a Life Spent Killing Humans and Amassing a Large Fortune” or “Just One More Wasted Day.” Check out a few of our favorites below, but be sure to read the stories behind them on his blog.
