Introducing A Lamp That Doubles As A Pillow

Ever looked at a lamp and thought to yourself "I really wish I could sleep on that"? No? Well neither did we till we saw glowing-pillow-lamp Soft Light, a flexible light fixture made of foamed polyurethane by Simon Frambach. Meant to resemble a calabash pumpkin, Soft Light can also be used to illuminate hard to reach places like behind sofas and under desks.

Now imagine if you tried this with a normal lamp..  

The bulbous light shade was originally created from a massive block of polyurethane foam on a simple rotational milling. See below:

"Its warm and tangible surface invites to touching and literally feeling light," says Frambach."The result is a light which is extremely flexible in use without having a technical characteristic."

We're excited for what this new development holds. Could we also be seeing light up couches and beds in the future?

That would certainly make for a fascinating conversation piece.
